Things I Love This Month - March

I’m one of those people who loves to dabble in a little bit of a lot of things. I had a boss once who described herself as “a generalist at life” and I totally dig that concept. So I have also chosen to embrace the Life Generalist Lifestyle.

One great thing about being a Life Generalist is taking the opportunity to pass along some of the things I’m into these days. Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover you’re into some of this too, right?

Soooooo…. here’s the short list of the things I can’t get enough of right now:

Music: Lord Huron – Fool for Love

This song was featured in the season premiere of Girls a few weeks ago and I can’t stop listening to it. I’m obsessed with it. Like, on-repeat-style obsessed.

Podcast: Food Blogger Pro Podcast

Podcasts are awesome for passing the time on a bus commute, which I get to do on the daily. One of my favorites right now is the Food Blogger Pro Podcast. Obviously it’s geared toward food bloggers (um, clever name, yeah?) but if you deal at all in the digital space – like social media, or any form of online marketing or communications in general – I’d totally recommend it. It’s hugely informative and awesome and will make you seem a lot smarter when you go to work.

The guy who hosts it, a fellow Minnesotan named Bjork, has this great approachable and understandable style in how he explains even some of the most technical stuff.  I seriously get so much value out of listening to this each week. My day job is in social media marketing, and I’ve been able to apply so much of what I’ve learned on this podcast in what I’m doing there. Plus, it hasn’t been to shabby in helping me to keep up this here blog you’re reading.

Spring projects planning!

Ok, it’s not spring quite yet. It’s March in Minnesota, after all. You can’t really reliably count on consistent springlike weather here until late May. But we’ve had a crazy warm stretch of weather over the last several weeks — including a whopping 70 degrees earlier this week, woo! What this means is that I’m in major spring project planning mode lately, and am really jonesin’ to get going on things.

I’m thinking about what to plant in the garden, what color to stain the deck that we built last summer and what accent pieces we want to put on the deck to make it comfy and hang-out-able this year. I’m a Pinterest-ing fiend right now when it comes to all things gardening and outdoors. (By the way, in case you’re inclined to follow me on Pinterest, here’s where to find me.)

The Puggle

Let’s face it, I’m a crazy dog lady and the puggle – especially this puggle – is always on my list of favorite things. So here’s the obligatory Lola shot.

How about you? What are you into lately?

Hey, just a heads-up:

(That’s legalese for: There might be links in this post that let me earn a little commission on things you buy from Amazon. Don’t worry, it doesn’t cost you anything extra. It just helps me pay some of the bills around here. You should also know I only add affiliate links to products I actually use and love.)
